FAQs
-
A birth doula is a person who supports a birthing person emotionally, physically, and informationally with a strong emphasis on advocacy! They also support the partners or direct family members in the birth space or on the birth team. We can assist with anything from resources and education sessions to hip squeezes and catching puke during delivery!
-
Whereas we are typically hired to support a woman giving birth- part of our job is also supporting + educating her family and partner! This is done prenatally, as well as during the birth of the baby and carried through postpartum. I also offer educational classes that can be beneficial to the mom and her support systems!
-
Doulas are not medical providers! We do not perform any medical tasks like taking blood pressure, placing IV’s, or performing cervical exams. We are a support person, and do not replace your OB/GYN, Midwife or healthcare team.

When you submit your contact/interest form, clarify that you are a low-income family and would like to be considered for donation assistance! This is by the honor system so I trust people will not take resources away from those who truly need it.
